Why is the media so fascinated with the Dallas Cowboys?

I'm not a Cowboy hater or a Cowboy fan but they cover everything the Cowboys do. They have been a .500 team for almost 20 years. I really don't get it.

The same reason the British media is obsessed with Manchester United. Because its a big club with lots of fans, lots of money and lots of history. I'm British and Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers were literally the only teams that I ever hearer of until about 2 months ago

They generate a lot of attention from fans. They're the closest thing football has to the New York Yankees, a team both the haters and fans want to hear about. Jerry Jones is also a very visible owner.

I was beginning to think I was the only fan who didn't hate or love the Cowboys.

The Cowboys haters are as fascinated in the team as the fans, so the media soaks it in and give the Cowboys endless coverage

It's always a good mix of fans and haters that ignite endless media attention.

  • Because it's Dallas, and they get paid to hype the Cowboys. Same for NY, hell Woody J was able to buy off the NYC monster medias so that they would cover the Jets and not the Giants, the year they won the SB in 2012. Just thank god L.A. does not have a franchise, it would be a nightmare

Dallas Cowboys are one of the most popular teams in the NFL, love them or hate them. They will never leave the Media scene because of this.

Same reason the media constantly covers the Lakers, and Yankees. They're big market teams that had a run of success with fans everywhere whether they win or lose.

Being labeled "America's Team" by the media, they will always be a story no matter how good or bad they are.

Cause the girls are popular and ESPN makes big money when they talk about them. The same reason they talk about the Fakers and Yankees when they suck.

I don't wanna hear about them. I change the channel every time.

To be fair, thanks to Jerry Jones, a lot of stupid things happen to this team and that is the kind of stuff that the media likes to cover.
