sore throat, need help!?

I've had a sore throat for the past 4 days, with no letup. It's about a 3 or 4 on a scale from 1 to 10 with 10 being the most painful. I really do NOT want to be sick on Christmas, what can or should I do? I've tried saltwater, marshmallows, vitamin c, tylenol, chloroseptics, gotten rest, drinking plenty of fluids, take a hot shower each day, and doing all the right things. If you have any other suggestions please share. Thank you.

    Gargle with whiskey. Take some pain reliever such as ibuprofen or aspirin.

    See a dr could be strep
