Here's articles on feeding blue front Amazon parrots as well as a list of foods safe for Amazons. Amazons should receive a balanced diet and treat foods such as meats and other safe foods should be given sparingly.

Most amazon parrots learn to talk by 2 years of age but parrots like humans, vary in their talking ability and their willingness to talk.

If you want to teach your parrot to talk then you want your parrot to pay attention to you. When a parrot has a mate, their primary interest naturally is toward the other bird and less toward the humans in their household.

Your bird will talk when it wants to talk to you....... and if you are not constantly talking and engaging the bird every day, several times a day - don't expect this to happen.
I have several birds that are not known for talking that are just awesome talkers. The learned to talk from the blue Quaker we have...... I think they were jealous and saw all the attention he got when talking to us, so, they started to do it.
Your bird - is only going to start talking to you when it sees a benefit to it. It's allot of hard work for a bird! They have to keep practicing, and, you need to work at recognizing what they are trying to say. Once you realize what the word or phrase is - you keep helping the bird to correct it by saying the work or phrase back to them over and over until they get it right.
Of the five parrots we have - all learned to laugh first - usually from us laughing at the TV and they wanted to just be part of the family. Once we taught them to 'kiss' by making kissing noises and saying 'Kiss' - after that it all went pretty fast. The trick is to recognize when they are in a practicing mood and help them with pronunciation.
As for meat - my Quaker has thing for turkey, chicken, and especially ham and bacon. Little bastard has slowly walked across the table to my bacon burger - acting like nothing is going on - then makes a mad a grab for the bacon, ripping the burger apart, and making a mad dash across the table to safety! All the while laughing like my wife as he does it. Not cool. He's got a 'think' for the salty crispy bits on a cooked ham, steak, French fries and potato chips. I have no doubt the little bugger would eat himself into a comma if left alone - so - I don't let him have too much. He says about 40 different words and phrases and I would be heartbroken if he died.

It is ok to give him meat only if it was made in the oven no salt no seasoning.Dont give him the fatty parts only the inner meat. Some parrots dont start talking until they are 5 years old.He just needs time.Talk to him more in a gentle voice as it might help him understand it better.Getting him company is a good thing but if you want him to talk wait a bit then get him a friend.
