what do i need to run my arduino without the developer?

Basically i want to swap the chip out of my developer and into a more permanent project. One is just using basic i/o but the other ones need the pwm functions to work. I know i need a voltage reg and frequency crystal and the mem chip. Other than that im clueless thanks

From my experience it's easier and cheaper to just buy another Arduino board than to try and construct your own from the bare components. For all my permanent projects I use the BareDuino Nano. It's relatively cheap and it's very compact. Unless you are buying in bulk and building hundreds of projects the savings of building your own board vs buying a prefabricated one are negligible.

Building your own arduino is easy. Program the chip in your arduino, then drop it into a diy project per http://www.instructables.com/id/The-Embedded-Ardui...
