1989 honda crx. my sun roof just raises up is this how that model is or is mine broken. electric model?
I push the button and it raises up but does not slide open. Is this right for this model.. 89

Am surprised the sunroof still works. Not too familiar with the 89s but many old cars with sunroofs only power the sunroof up. It might also be an aftermarket sunroof. I would leave it closed though. Not easy to find those motors now.

Has this problem just started? How long have you had car? Sunroof should pop up then slide back. Check switch. There is a tilt mode as well as open and close.
Check factory service manual.
There also is a tilt switch up under the sun roof. Can you hear motor trying to run? Last maybe track is obstructed or stuck.

All CRX Si models come with the power sunroof, so if it is, the sunroof should pop up first and slide back. When the roof pops up hold the button down, or press it again. It should slide back over the top.

My91 crx ones does that too but after I spray it with a lot of lube everyday for a few days it started opening up nicely
