It's great to keep your parrot company, especially when not at home. However, If you do get him a female friend, you will begin to notice his growing attachment from you to his other female friend.
Unless you want them to have babies, it is best if you get him another male of his species. If not, provide them with a a large wooden nesting box with shreds to breed in. You can also build them a large aviary in the garden, as birds love the sunshine. This way you will not have to clip him, but if you are worried about him flying away, a safer alternative is to sticky tape a few feathers from one of his wings.
