How to calculate the glycemic load of a meal with meat?
Hello,
To calculate the glycemic load of a meal, I add the different GL of the ingredients (with a GI table). But I have a problem when I add the GL of meat or eggs as they have a GI of 0.
Should I consider to 0 in GL since they are supposed to lower the glycemic load of the meal? Or do you take off a certain rate for these ingredients?
Thank you
I thank you for your answer micksmixxx,
Could you tell me however how to calculate the Glycemic Load of a meal with carbohydrates but also meat, or fish, eggs abd fat that have a 0 Glycemic Index ?

Multiply the Glycemic Index by the number of carbohydrates then divide by 100, my friend. This gives you the Glycemic Load.
The 0 that you mention is the amount of carbohydrates, NOT the Glycemic Load.
