Why do evangelicals use Bible passages against each other rather than accept the whole package?
For Example The Bible teaches that Baptism saves you. (1 Peter 3:21). Jesus commanded that we baptize all nations in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. When the Bible says this, instead of believing it, you contradict the Bible with the Bible by quoting John 3:16. Why can't you accept that both of these passages are true and correct in their context? You consistently place verses against other verses and claim to be Bible believers. If we are going to be under the authority of the Bible shouldn't it be all of it rather than the parts that fit your theory? Especially when no one believed your theory for 80 percent of the time the Church has existed.
@Gabby= Faith is trust that is a gift from God and something that you are doing in your brain. This is why Baptism now saves you. Not the removal of dirt from the Body but the pledge of clear conscience in God's sight through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Baptism is the Holy Spirits work and not your work.
Titus 3:6 For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. 4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of "works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life."
NOT something you are doing in your brain.

The carnal man cannot save Himself, and baptism is the means
by which we are regenerated.
Baptism means in the Greek to dye the cloth a different color,
thus WE change our own ways (spiritually) which then
proceeds to do just that.
It is done by justification at that point.
I think some people are too quick, and I know this is
a common problem.
Once some people THINK something, they seem loathe
to change that.
This requires humility, something the Lord must ALSO
help us to see.

The Bible does not say that baptism saves you. If you are reading 1 Peter 3, you need to read past the parentheses and put the last part of that verse together with the first. Context is indeed important, and it appears that you have taken it out of context.
1 Peter 3:21 NKJV says:
There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ...
Here is how you need to see it:
1Pe 3:21
There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
If you are baptized into Christ, it means that you are a part of the body of Christ, born again, and saved because you have put your faith in Him. It does not say that you are saved by baptism.
The reason that it is important that you do not think you can be saved by baptism, is first - because it is not true. Believing that will cause you to miss salvation.
If you think that you must put your faith in Christ (per John chapter) AND that you ALSO need to be baptized, then you believe that what Christ did on the cross for you is not enough. You believe that you must do something to earn your salvation. And you are saying that the work you must do is somehow making up for what you think you lack in Christ. There is NOTHING you can do to add to what Christ has done. There is nothing you can do to take up any sort of slack that you think exist, and it is an insult to the one who paid it all for you.
Truth does not contradict truth. When evangelicals discuss a particular topic, doctrine, or passage, it is safe to say that each has a perspective on it. They each know other passages that support their belief, or that show why the others belief may not be correct.
Whenever I have a conflict with the way someone has interpreted a passage, and we do not resolve it ourselves, I always ask God to correct either one or both opinions and teach us the truth. Inviting God to teach you Himself will work miracles in Bible study!

Jesus did say, he that believes AND IS BAPTIZED, shall be saved. Yet some in here proved just what you said; they cannot and will not put scripture together and believe, I said BELIEVE it all.
So , can you? What about Acts 2;38.... Acts 10:48, Acts 19:5? You cannot find in any scripture, where anyone used the word, name of Father and son and Holy Ghost.
They knew that this is not for them, since only Jesus can use the name of, or POWER of the Father.
So, can you accept this part of Scripture? And those of you who think you are so smart, that you can call God's words a lie, due to your own lack of understanding...you are on dangerous grounds with your carnal minds.
No man can understand the Word of God, with a carnal mind. It is very few who have a spiritual mind, hence, your false words, that God contradicts himself.
If Jesus taught that it take baptism, and Peter taught it takes baptism in the name of Jesus, to remit your sins, then how do you 'smart' folks deny this and think you have some truth?
Adding to God's word and TAKING away from God's word is DAMNING SINS. Hence, you all still call yourselves SINNERS.
All Scripture must be taken together or you may as well forget it all.

Baptism doesn't save. Baptism is something a Christian does after we're saved as a testimony to others that we've put our faith in Jesus. The Bible says we are saved by God's grace alone, not by works(Ephesians 2:8-9). For more info: www.equip.org

Jesus said we have to preach to and baptize not just all nations but “all creatures". “All creatures” includes full immersion baptism of wild cats, monkeys, pangolins, poisonous snakes, and even computers and robots if and when they get sentiment.
Mark chapter 16: verses 15-16
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

The Bible contradicts itself in so many places that nobody who is both honest and has reasonable reading comprehension could accept all of it as true.

This isn't about God or faith, it's about being right.
