Why did nelly furtardo release a Spanish album when she's full blooded Portuguese?

Why not a Portuguese album?

    Cause Spanish albums r more commercialized than the Portuguese ones.

    Simple economics and math. There are far more Spanish speakers in the world than Portugese and they are in more affluent countries where Furtado is already known.
