What would you say if someone in a store line called you a hooker for how you dressed?

I was in Target today and some girl was wearing a leather miniskirt up to her butt cheeks, black lacy stockings, stilettos, and a top that looked more like a bra. Some woman with kids kept giving her a look and she asked if she had a problem and the mother said "Yes, when you look like a hooker in front of my children." The girl said "Then don't take them out" and turned around. I was kinda floored. What would your reaction have been if she was talking to you?

Actually the woman's response was pretty measured, considering the rudeness of the "mother with kids". Whatever happened to "If you can't say something nice, keep your mouth shut?"

The mother of those kids may have felt slighted, but she asked for it. What other people wear to a public venue is really up to each individual. I wonder if the mother has ever seen People of Wal-Mart and what her reaction to those pictures is.

"Oh, your kids don't know what you do for a living?"

I'm usually polite with some exceptions. That's rude & ignorant of the lady to judge this girl, hooker or not. She has the right to wear whatever she wants, without others' concern.

I would have said, "it's not polite to stare" and said it loud enough for her kids to hear, probably look at them, smiling. Or let her know where I got the shoes. idk probably would have said nothing. You get the same rehearsed reactions out of mostly everyone. Typical. bfd. Probably been inside with her children too long. Last thing you would want her to do is not get out of the house again, poor thing. I can't wait for her precious dolls to turn 14. She's gonna have a heart attack.

Actually, I'd probably say the same thing. If you want to hide your kids from the world, then do it. Don't criticize people who aren't interested in helping you keep them in the dark.

And if they were very young children, they wouldn't understand what prostitution is anyway. And if they did, then her parenting is what she ought to be worried about, not the way I'm dressed.

I quit judging people years ago.. She wouldn't be talking to me I could care less what people wear. besides ever look around and see what others are wearing. I have seen 300 pound females in mini skirts. I doubt they need me to tell them how silly they look.

I might examine myself at home and see if she was right that I looked like a hooker.

That's pretty rude, and the response makes sense. Reminds me of the people who complain about television and radio: don't watch or listen to it, if it offends you.

i will just remind the fellow not to forget we are all in the same business with which name the fellow called me.

...(they) would obviously be "drunk" ! (unless) you know of "Hookers" that wear Board shorts and tank tops.
