Folder deleted but still acquiring space!!?

I deleted a folder of 81 GB from a 250 GB hard drive (D drive) and something went wrong ... It was completely deleted but the deletion stuck on 100% so with task manager I force shut down it. Now the folder is nowhere and still the hard drive acquired the same space!!

    1. check recycle bin, if you find that folder, delete that from there

    if above is not the solution, then perform checkdisk:

    ('d:' is the drive letter of desired drive, as you mentioned your drive is D drive, so i m using d: )

    open command prompt(run->cmd)

    type this command:

    d:

    chkdsk /r

    press 'y' if asked

    Restart if it asks and let it boot, do not do anything

    Revert back if you face any problem

    I thin there is a problem of virus in your computer that prevents to delete data of 81 GB. First of all, scan your computer with good antivirus and try to delete it. Otherwise, use command prompt and insert a command of deleting the folder which you want to remove.

    Chk d disk properly or even better copy all the data in someother drive for mat it then check each and everyfolDer u copied and paste it!

    This will make sure that the 81GB folder is not copied again and its deleted for sure!

    you should use disk defragmenter and disk cleanup by going to ->Accessories->System Tools.

    These tool will delete all garbage data and lost pointers.
