make for her the exact same thing as for your mother!! I have half a regular serving of excellent desserts, NOT sugar free crappy desserts. Sugar free has flour in it so it is NOT sugar free! or it is sugar free jello which has sugar alcohols in them and those are laxatives! Really nasty as you can only have a teaspoonful or suffer the consequenses.

    2 4-inch cookies is a full serving!

1/6 of a pie or cake is a full serving, so cut them in 12 pieces and it serves for more days and makes grandma very happy!

BTW: Am Diabetic Assn thinks 50 grams of carbohydrate is just fine for desserts, they merely cut out all fats and salt, and change the sugar to splenda! This all tastes so very nasty and doesn't answer the lower carbohydrate amounts at all!

Sabrinaf, my sister is registered with the diabetics association and she goes to their web site, has prepared some awesome meals and desserts, you would not think it was a diabetic preparation.

I get recipes from the National Heart Foundation site, I have to be very cautious with sugar and sodium also, as well as carbs.

Here's a link that I just looked up, http://www.easy-diabetic-recipes.com/diabetic-dess... check it out. If you don't find what you're after there, just google diabetic desserts and you'll find all kinds of options.
