Western pad for ill fitting saddle?

I have a fairly expensive barrel saddle that I love but never seems to fit any horse, wide or petite correctly.

It's FQHB. I'm currently riding a big Spanish bred horse in it, but it pops up in the back and seems like it pinches her shoulders - She's not comfortable, at a loose rein walk she often pulls down to relieve the pressure.

I've been to horse shows and seen these expensive pads that help distribute weight evenly and relieve pressure for saddles that are not well fitting. I do not want to give up my saddle but would like to give one of these pads a try. I'm not sure what they're made of, but the price range is usually 150 - 200$...They're popular with higher up barrel racers and folks in rodeo. Anyone know what the heck I'm talking about?

I assume you are talking about a sheepskin saddle pad.

You can try it, but if your saddle fits that badly, it may not be enough.

It's just as important that the saddle fit the horse as you.
