i want to talk to transgenders...how can i go about this?

Get together with your local LGBT organization, they can direct you to a trans group that may have a family support group.

There's tons of information on the Internet. Google "Transgender Family Support Groups"

There is a book, though it's titled for mothers, it is a good primer for understanding the process:

I'd say find a gender therapist and make an appointment. Alternately, you could simply google it - there's a lot of stuff on the Web.
