If scale of the map is 1: 10^6 , then a line of 37 cms length on map will represent how much km on ground?

    Set up a proportion:

    1/10^6 = 37 cm/x

    solve for x

    x*(1/10^6) = 37 cm

    x = (37 cm)*(10^6) = 37 x 10^6 cm = 3.7 x 10^7 cm

    (etc. with the conversion to whatever unit you want):

    37×10^6 cm = 37×10 km = 370 km
