HDTV as secondary monitor problem?

I just bought a 22" Samsung HDTV and connect it to my 12" netbook as primary display using 1.5m HDMI (HDMI to HDMI) cable.

The problem is that sometimes (randomly) the screen goes black and then normal again after several seconds. The TV doesn't go to stand-by or turned off or anything. It's as if it gets disconnected and then connected again. This never happened before when I just use my netbook.

Is this normal to happen? Since this is my first time using this setup (HDTV as secondary monitor). Or should I get a replacement since they're all brand new and there's still a warranty.

Update:

- Just talking to my sister that also use same setup, she has same problem though different TV and netbook (she uses notebook).

- The problem occurs not only when watching movies but pretty much randomly.

- The TV resolution is 1920x1080 while my netbook resolution is 1366x768 (or so, doesn't really remember).

- And I don't think it's heat problem since I just turn them on and the problem already occurs.

If you use some programs like XBMC (open source media center), when a video stops oftentimes my monitors and my TV will go black for several seconds and then comes back on. As long as it doesn't happen out of the blue, then it's normal.

No that shouldn't happen. I occasionally hook up my laptop to a 42" Samsung HDTV and have never had a problem. One thing you might try is opening Control Panel Devices and Monitors and playing with settings. It sounds like something isn't synced correctly.
