leg and back pain when standing and walking?
When I stand too long (about 30 minutes) or have to walk a long while, especially on hard surfaces, fatigues my legs and hurts my back. I have hereditary flat feet, (my podiatrist described my feet as pancakes) I wear orthotics but have really bad shoes. I'm about 30 pounds overweight and mostly sedentary, ( I'm a student) so when I stand for a while fatigue spreads up my legs from my feet and then into my back where it starts to hurt. So my question is, how do I prevent pain, what exercises or things I could do to be on my feet longer.

ok, I have flatfoot deformity. now, you may have some bulging discs
or a slipped disc. I wear shoe inserts to level my foot up. but see your
doc and have him make a determination. you may need an mri.
do you have any electrical sensation from your hip down your leg?
or does your hip hurt at one location? you may have sciatica, which I do.
but I can not diagnose, only say what I have experienced. good luck, as
I am on disability now.
