Which camera is better?
I need a new camera. Nothing too fancy. Basically I have a son and he is a very fast paced subject lol. I want good quality photos and a camera that will keep up. The one I have now takes about 10 seconds to start up and that's just way too long. Plus when he's running around the images tend to be blurry. I narrowed it down to two cameras I just need some help with the technical specs. The canon seems to have some cooler functions like the wifi, I just don't want to sacrifice quality.

Your biggest problem with your fast moving subject is shutter lag. All P&S cameras have shutter lag, some are worse than others.
The only way to get away from it is to buy a DSLR. Shutterlag and the low-light issues are the reason I gave up on P&S cameras years ago.
Short of buying a DSLR, make sure your camera has a viewfinder, manual controls, and manual focus.
That way, you can "trick" the camera into moving a bit faster (pre focusing, pressing shutter button half way, turning off the LCD review, anticipating the action so you're ready etc).
Keep checking the specifications on the manufacturer's websites and read reviews such as on www.dpreview.com. With a lot of homework, you'll be able to work out how YOUR choice of camera compares to the rest of them in terms of shutter lag.
