im leave for bootcamp soon what should i take with me to fort jackson .?

I went through Jackson about 6 months ago. Here are some things you should know:

1. Reception is the worst part. All the waiting and getting yelled at is part of the process.

2. The shark attack isn't real, but the exercises they make you do inside of the bay are very real and get results.

3. Right place, right uniform, right time, every time- made the nine weeks fly by.

4. You'll be waiting around a lot. I qualified with my weapon on the first day of qualification. Guess what I did the next 2 ....

5. In FTX's save stuff. You'll know what I mean.

6 if you have a question ask. The DS won't freak out they actually want you to succeed....mostly so they don't have to deal with you.

If you happen to get Delta 213 pay attention. The army has some world class drill sergeants there that'll change your life.

You should have been given a list of items to take by your recruiter but you can also get a copy at goarmy.com or www.military.com

It's only 10 weeks.

Keep your ears and eyes open and your mouth shut

Don't borrow or lend money

Make new friends

Anything else will either be put in storage or you will have to ship it home. Don't bring it.

"Shower Shoes" are very important, never let your feet touch a bare floor in BCT if you can avoid it. And be sure to wash your feet and dry them well. Severe athlete's foot really sucks and it's easy to catch.

Read the list of what you have been told to bring, and bring nothing else
