Question about medication?

I'm currently in a clinical trial for a new anti-depressant drug. I've been taking it for a couple weeks and the people there make a note to say I can't take any other medication while on it. I haven't, but I want to see my doctor because I'm interested to take a type of hormone medication. I figured they didn't want me to take meds because they are monitoring something, is it something harmful to do? Can I take anti-depressants and hormone medicine at the same time? Thanks.

They're monitoring side effects for one thing, which is required by law. If you start 2 meds and report side effects they won't know which medicine to attribute it to.
