What is wrong with my washing machine?

The bearings and tub were replaced within the last year. It had been making a knocking sound only in the spin cycle. Now it makes a huge crashing sound during the spin cycle. It is a Whirlpool duet front loading machine.

As the post above explains, it could be that or just that the wet clothes in the tub are not evenly distributed. This will often happen if you wash small articles and a couple of towels, since the towels will usually be bunched up and hold more water than the smaller items.

Are the "legs" on the bottom level? If you machine is not level, it will make loud sounds during spin cycles because the machine is being knocked around on an uneven surface.

You can turn those screws by hand to adjust them. If they are tight then use a plier. Put a bubble level tool on top of the washing machine and readjust the legs. When the bubble is center, your machine is level.
