The Thing with Hp Is their overall design of their PC's (especially Laptops) Is that they didn't work in a whole lot of ventilation, of course with a laptop especially, this is key, which is why HP Is talked so low about (by More Tech Savvy People.) but as for what you can do is try and blow some of the dust out. buy some Canned Air, or even an air Compressor With a nozzle would work. just use either to blow into the vents on the PC (you Should technically do this at least once a month in order to sustain proper ventilation, And Avoid over heating.) A Cooling pad alone is useless but if you do blow it out it should stop over heating as much. I have an old Hp Laptop myself (which I don't use anymore) i usually had to blow it out once a week, to stop it from over heating. But try that and continue using the cooling pad it will help too.

    Good Luck
