How do I take my car from the UK to America temporarily?
I want to travel America for a few months but it's far too expensive to rent a car and taking interstate flights would take the excitement away from driving!
I've heard that you can take your own vehicle via a freight ship but I don't know where to begin or how much it would be?
Thanks.

I would advise against that. Shipping it or flying it ..(forget - that one - !) Will far outweigh the expense of rental in the States. Car rental in the US is designed to be simplistic, and - it is. (Easiest I've ever known, way easier than in the Uk)
The first problem will be the cost, plus - the steering wheel is on the wrong side...!
The second will be transporting it - to - your location (After it's delivered to a nominated port)
The third problem will be insuring it while you are - there -
The forth problem will be using petrol pumps (You will always have to reverse in...)
The fifth problem will be the expense in returning it - back to the Uk.
The sixth problem would be fear of theft or incident - while you are there...(A very real problem)
The seventh problem could be easily resolved with one solution....Hiring when you are there!
A conservative estimate for shipping your car - one way - from the Uk -to- the Continental US would be £2,500 + additional VAT and taxes plus customs inspection taxes. (Outbound as well as inbound) Flying it there? Double it or more..Dependent on axel weight !!!!! Plus, there are all kinds of other issues, the tank - must be empty during flight (as one example..Tire pressure must be reduced.. etc. etc.)
Hire! You can hire a car for a week for like $150.00! (DOLLARS! Not Pounds!) - You do the maths! Plus insurances are covered too, as an option.

National representations of America like the Capitol and the White House are place that, without a doubt, every individual desires to see them and to accomplish this you will need to make a trip to Washington and this web site hotelbye will help you. Not just these 2 icons areas you will see in Washington but in addition world-class museums and essential monuments. Almost all of these museums come in or nearby the north-western quadrant along the mall and are best seen on foot. The best-loved of most Washington's would be the memorials that you will find in the mall. The Lincoln Memorial stands at the much conclusion of the mall, separated from the Washington Monument by the Reflecting Pool. In the center of the mall is just a 19-foot marble statue of a seated and pensive President Abraham Lincoln surrounded by 36 columns and this place is definitely one never to skip from your visit to Washington.
