How do I return a used small appliance to walmart?

I bought a waffle iron and a stand mixer from Walmart a couple weeks ago. I still have the receipt. I used them both (once) and I'm very unsatisfied with their performance. I want to return them but I don't know if I should pack everything up in the box like it came. I'm just afraid that if I pack it like it came they will put it back on the shelf and sell a used item. I cleaned them, but the waffle iron still has some batter on it because the batter measuring scoop that came with it resulted in way too much batter and it spilled everywhere and took 30 minutes just to get it as clean as I did.

So, should I return it with ALL the packing material, or can I just put it in the box?

Put what you can into the box and put the lot into a plastic shopping bag and return it making sure you have the receipt in your purse or pocket.

They expect that all the time and are quite efficient to make it easy for you

Most often they will offer a replacement or another brand but you can ask for your money back. Only if you paid in cash you can insist on a cash refund otherwise it will be a voucher to spend on something else there

I had the same problem with a vacuum sweeper one time and took it back to Walmarts, but they refused to take it back, so I had to take it to a company that repairs items sold at Walmarts. It cost me a lot of extra money driving to Seattle, parking, etc over a $175.00 in gas. I only buy food from Walmart, nothing else.
