Power window motor quits and starts -2004 Blazer?

The drivers side door power window will work sometimes, other times it won't. Sometimes it will start then quit, window partly down. Found that when it won't work slamming the door will make it work again 90% of the time. Does this sound more like a loose wire or a bad motor?

Bad motor. Helped a friend replace two in his Astro van over the summer that were doing the same thing.

Lots of utube videos on how to replace them so it seems a common problem.

Check the wiring harness between the door and the "A" pillar. Door open and closing will twist & turn, the wires will break or just have a few strands left and sometime the current will not go through..

Of course there is a good change the motor getting old or a loose connection some where, but it won't cost a cent to check the wiring harness out..Do it first..

wiring in doors often causes shorts to occur in the motor... once motor experiences any type of short, it usually never returns to full active service even upon wiring replacement....best results are replacement of both motor and wire connectors attaching to the unit.... NO EASY SOLUTION... wiring at door hinge is often compromised due to constant open and closing of doors... if motors are replaced and the short is in the hinged door area, aq new short will promptly occur and you'll end up shorting out the new power window motors....to avoid this dilemma, merely check continuity from fuse-box to the motor with door open, closed and while opening door...
