Is signing players in January a good idea?

Is it realistic signing a player mid-season and expect them to settle into the team right away?

    Its hard to the better ones, because they are cup tied, and probably won't want to leave anyway, at least not in January.

    I think it would depend how much your team needs a player.

    Maybe we could try getting one on loan.

    If we had a winter break, it'd give time for the winter signing to fit in.
