How fitting is that Chris Conte costs the Bears their season?

The worst safety in the NFL that no one knows about blows his coverage in the closing seconds of the Bears/Packers finale leads to a 50+ yard game winning touchdown by the Packers.

Chris Conte is not new to missing assignments. If you are a Bears fan, you already know. If you are not, you will never even be able to fathom the horrible ability of this former 3rd round pick. I wish I could begin to explain how awful his tackling and coverage is, but it would not sufficiently depict how pitiful he really is.

It appears that his NFL days are over, because there is no GM in the NFL that would let this sorry excuse of a football player even breath on their practice squad.

If you volunteer at a soup kitchen next year and see his unemployed *** crawl through, do not serve him. Turn him in to the Chicago police.

Update:

@Slave2Christ -- Trestman and Cutler showed up every day physically, but not mentally. Actually, Cutler didn't even show up every day physically.

I have been saying the EXACT same thing about Conte all season long. He is truly a one man season wreaking crew.

If you analyzed every game the Bears lost this season you would see that he played a major part in the loss. He has GOT TO GO!

I can't believe the Bears could not find anybody better then this worthless excuse for a NFL free safety. He should not even be playing in the NFL.

When you look back and see who brought this guy to the Bears you will understand why he has to go! If he is still on the team next year, expect another losing season.

Conte blows his assignment constantly. He is the worst tackler on the field. When he tries to hit high, he bounces off the ball carrier. When we goes low, he slides and tries to grab the ball carriers legs, which works 1 in 10 times. He obviously cant play a man coverage as we can tell, hence why the Bears will not be playing next week. Definitely a player that should not be wearing a Bears uniform.

Actually, it depends on his work ethic during this upcoming offseason. If Chris Conte works hard and performs very well in practice every day, he will greatly improve his chances of getting signed to play for an NFL team next season.

He is from the lovie era what do you expect. I feel bad for people like Cutler and Forte and Trestman who at least showed up today

That was just...an awful awful play. It couldn't get much worse. Luckily he's still under his relatively low cost rookie contract next season (don't quote me on that) so it won't be much of a cap hit to release him. I'm expecting every cent of offseason money to be spent on defensive linemen and defensive backs

Trestman cost them. The field goal miss on 2nd down was pure genius. So was the play today where nobody picked up the ball; they teach you to do that in Pop Warner.

He is just a horrible safety I don't know how in the actual f**k you let someone get behind you like that. He is probably the most bull*** safety in the NFL right now.

They need to get rid of him and major wright ASAP.
