Can Misleading lotto ticket be challenged?

Could I challenge the State or would a letter to NY State or some type of action be of any use or not? I have scratched lotto tickets and used to the rules of various types of tickets. Sometimes you see something that looks close to a winner and it makes your heart skip a beat for a second. This is different though. I've never seen such a poorly written, misleading lotto ticket as Win $1,500 a week for Life game. There are three games on the ticket. The first game you have to have 3 like amounts to win or three "life" symbols to win 1,500 for a week for life. The second game, you scratch the winning number section and then have the other numbers and the prizes below. You have to match the numbers to the winning number box and win the prize below. Ok fair enough, didn't win for those.

But the third game, the instructions state reveal a dollar bill symbol, you win the prize below it. The next sentence says get a 5x symbol and win 5 times the prize shown. The next sentence says reveal prize to be "Life" and win $1,500 a week for life. Reveal prize as in what's below the symbols, not reveal "life"symbol which is the top part. I had the life prize down below, yet it did not win. This game's instructions are based on assumptions. I'm thinking the assumption is if it's a dollar bundle symbon above like in first sentence with "life" prize below that wins. However, that would make sense if that was the only symbol that could win money, but remember the 5x symbol is a winner too. So which symbol, 5x or dollar bundle symbol? It states neither but simply revealing the "life" prize and you win. Pretty irritating if you ask me and if this was simply based on what is written, it should be a winner.

No you guys are not being duped. And it is not worded incorrectly. If you actually read the ticket you can figure it out fairly easily. Game 3 is based on two symbols to win (dollar symbol and 5x symbol). Any prize with those symbols on top are winners. If you get the dollar symbol you win the prize amount, if you get the 5x symbol you win 5 times the prize amount. If the prize (under the winning symbols) is life you win $1500 for life. The rule states that if you reveal one of those two symbols you win the prize, AND if the prize is life you win $1500 a week for life. All its doing is telling you what the jackpot is (in accordance to the rules of that particular game). All 3 games start off explaining the rules of the game, then telling you what the jackpot is. If you understood the first two games its pretty simple to just apply the same logic to the last one.

I went to the Claim Center and the lady scanned the card. She said it's not the winning card. She handed me right away a printed paper with this heading :

" New York Lottery $ 1500 a Week for LIFE Instant Game ($3)

    Game 3 Instructions Clarification

I assumed a lot of people are claiming their card that's why they have a print-out right away to show to claimants. Only in this piece of paper, they are clear in the instruction but the card itself is misleading.

we just got the same thing last night. The first 2 games are all "or" statements. Game three seems to be "and" statements. The game also say's 12 chances to win, when a most its 9 chances and based upon the wording of game three its only 1 chance and 3 in each of the other games.

Yes, I agree this is very misleading, tried counting the number of chances on this ticket and it's not 12 chances. Where is the word"AND" in the game. It's a rip off.

I have one ticket also, in the 3rd game, I have a $ symbol at top, and at the bottom a # amount , then I have the word LIFE with a chest symbol. I agree is confuse, they should be more specific!

I'd really like to know if anyone gets anywhere with a lawsuit regarding this. My husband and I were duped as well. The directions are completely misleading and should be revised to be more specific. It's cruel. I didn't dare to get overly excited - I thought there had to be a catch, and damn if there wasn't. Completely disgusted and aggrivated.
