Scared to stay home alone all night?
my family went out of town for the week and im stuck at home and I have the whole house empty to myself which is a good thing during the day I guess but its kind of freaky at night. I really need to get some sleep because I have to work tomorrow but I cant bring myself to go to bed because im scared of the house being quiet and something happening while im asleep. it sounds silly but I am really scared of being home alone because one time when I was home alone we got broken in to and now im terrified of being home alone and especially at night. is there anything I can do to make myself feel safe?

that is quite normal
when you get out on your own and you move from place to place, it takes time to get used to different noises from the furnace and refrigerator etc
you can always leave the tv on to let people think someone is still up watching tv
you can add battery operated led floodlights in case someone gets near the front door

I am surprised you have not invited a friend to stay with you. It can be worrisome to be home alone when you are not used to it. You should make sure all doors are locked, leave some lights on downstairs to let it be known someone is home. Keep a phone near you in case you have to make a call. Nothing is going to happen and my suggestions are made without knowing where you live ( a nice area or not) or if you have any means of self defence. Anything that makes noise is good. If you have an alarm system set it. Good Luck!
