I have somewhat of a question about bathroom ettiquette?

none of the pathogenic bacteria in poo is airborne, so it's not really unhealthy. however, it's kinda unpleasant. leave a book of matches on the back of the toilet. striking the match will neutralize the smell. placing air freshener in plain sight may also help them take a hint. this likely isn't deliberate. I generally leave the bathroom door open when finished so others won't hold it thinking it may be occupied.

A long time ago, I lived in a house where the bathroom door was three feet away from the kitchen sink. So, I understand bathrooms being located in small spaces.

I wrote a sign "Please keep door CLOSED at all times" and thumb tacked it to the inside of the door, eye high.

Also, it may be a good idea to also provide air freshener spray in a prominent location (on toilet tank cover or sink vanity).

Problem solved.

Which people? Randoms, flat mates or friends? If the bathroom has a window, open it when people are there, and put a sign on the inside of the door, please close door after you have used the facilities thank you!

I pretty much just have my family dump in my apartment and I do make a point to say Please use fan use air freshener and to close the door once you've gone. I try and keep my bathroom door closed all the time.

Keep the door closed and the bathroom vented all the time.seat down when not in use.

it isn't unhealthy or unhygienic; you're breathing in anal gases daily--including your own--whether you realize it or not. but it is questionably inconsiderate if the smell is particularly noxious. ideally, the crapper would leave the fan on (or crack the window) and leave the door at least partly closed

It's gross. Who wants to smell someone dong. Just open the window or leave the bathroom door closed. It smells and it's nasty.

You are correct, why don't you just tell them to shut the door after use or if you're not brave enough to tell them put a sign on the door saying

"SHUT THIS f**KING DOOR WHEN YOU COME OUT.

That should get the message across
