Getting a PhD in History and being a medical doctor?

I'm curious if it is possible to get a PhD in history and get a MD to be a medical doctor?

It probably would be costly, but I'm curious if this could actually be accomplished.

Thanks

Absolutely it's possible. A good friend of mine did exactly that. He majored in History in college, but then went to Med School. He decided in his third year of college to take some science courses, and then he applied to Med School and to everyone's surprise, he got in. Med Schools like History, English, PolySci majors, etc. who also know some science.

You can do anything you want so long as you take the pre-med classes. I took latin and italian in college, majored in classical civilization, and took the pre-med classes, got my masters in biomed science and got into med school. they won't have an issue with a PhD in history so long as the prerequisites are current.
