Have you ever gotten any of your stuff that the TSA wanted to confiscate back?

And how did you convince them?

Update:

People are taking this question the wrong way. I'm not looking for ways to get stuff past the TSA, I'm just asking for interesting stories.

You mean voluntarily abandon. Law enforcement has the authority to confiscate. When passengers bring items that is not allowed beyond the checkpoint they are given several options. Either they can go back to the ticket counter to check it in as checked baggage; give it to someone if they came with to the airport who is not traveling; go back to their parked car and place it there; use one of the mailing kiosks to mail the item to themselves; or voluntarily abandon the item for disposal. (Most people opt to check it in or use the mailing kiosks.) Voluntarily abandoned property is given to recyclers for disposal. TSA does not keep these items.

In checked baggage, items taken from baggage usually is in violation of FAA hazardous materials regulations. That is handed over to the airline for disposal.

You won't win with argument. They probably throw away almost everything. What did they take, under what circumstance and how long ago? You are being vague.
