Why won't my car radio won't put out any sound?

I just tried to replace the stock radio in my 2003 Chevy S10 with another radio. After I got it all hooked up, the radio will turn on and do every function it's supposed to, but it produces absolutely no sound. Not even static. I made sure I wired all the right colors. They're soldered and taped. Is there any advice you can give me?

In many GM rides they have either an (external amplifier running your stock speakers) or your (GM ride has other functions running threw the same harness as your stock stereo). i suggest you stop at any car audio installer in your area and ask a few questions. Infomation is free and mention why i mentioned in this post.
