Good question, pranav!
I'd say there are "five" and several cook-books and professional chefs agree:—cream sauces; red sauces; green sauces; meat sauces; fish/seafood sauces. Find the 'mother sauce' for each one and then add the pancetta, guanciale, lemon peel, peperoni, capers, veggies, oysters, baccala, etc, as needed.
Cheers!
PS: I neglected "cheese sauces" because most Italian pasta is served with 1-3 types of cheese on top or on the side...and there are many 'mixtures', as well, especially in the "cream sauce" world! adam

depends whether you are planning to open a Restaurant or simply for serving at home. You can have as many Pasta Sauces as you like but not at the same time. Could include seafood, vegetable, tomato based, meat based, cream and herbs etc

Pranav, your post does not make any sense the way its posted. Italians have one basic red sauce for pastas, and they expand from there.
It is similar for the white sauce pastas, one basic white sauce, and expanded from there.
