Do private restaurants or chained restaurents like applebees get paid better in tips?

I would think it depends on the waiter or waitress and their personality. I have had some waitress that I have tiped 50% just for the great service they gave and then I have had some the took forever, didn't say a word, and over all bad attitude that I would have just walked away from. You will have the poor customers that just doesn't know how to tip or what good service is, but you will run into many that will tip quite well, I would think a private restaurants that someone has personally picked out, would cater more to the right tippers than the chains that just anyone could go to... (my person opinion)

A server's income depends on a few determining factors:

- where the restaurant is located,

- what kind of clientele the restaurant attracts,

- how good the food is,

- and how good the service is!

But, the average food server makes a pretty decent wage in New York City. They make $30,000 annually, which is 29% higher than anywhere else in the nation!

Absolutely not. I don't tip anybody in Applebee's. They are paid to take my order and give me my food same as I was hired to keep peoples computers running. No tip difference no matter which one you work at!

Waiters/waitresses? Yes. Delivery drivers? No.

Chained? Are they all hooked together?
