Can you get STD/STI like herpes from public toilet water?
I've just been curious. Say someone has to use a public bathroom and say they go number 2 and water splashes up, could a person get genital herpes or another STD/STI from that?

Well.... Anything is possible, I suppose. But the chances of it are INCREDIBLY unlikely, considering the bodily fluids that remained after flushing would be INCREDIBLY diluted, if they were even there, and there would be so few particles it probably wouldn't cause disease....
Then again, it if were a serious risk, people woth AIDS would need seperate bathrooms!

No I would not worry about that because the water in the U.S. has Chlorine and Flourine in it. The methods for contracting std's is such that you won't get one that way. Flush the toilet once before you sit , and make sure there is no visible waste in the toilet. The only concern could be crabs or lice so for good measure feel free to wipe the seat with tp before you sit, and always wash your hands when you finish because the bigger concern would be spreading cold/flu virus

Hello! No you can not get any STD from a public bathroom. However, one can get a bacterial infection, but that is a very low chance. Stds can't survive in air so usually it's transmitted through blood.

No. Herpes isn't passed through fluids like water. It doesn't survive in fluids for more then a few seconds. Genital herpes is rarely passed out side of having oral sex or intercourse.
