How do you properly put an entire song (that is not yours) in a story?
I know that if you were to take a quote from a song, you would simply write (in italics)
"your prison is walkin' through this world all alone"
-"Desperado" written by Don Henley and Glenn Frey, 1973
But I want to put the entire song into a story that I am writing. Would I still need to put the quotation marks if I put the entire song and not just a quote from it? Do I need to say who published it along with who wrote it? Do I need the year it was published (like I put)?

Yes, you will need quotation marks at the beginning and ending of the song! "Desperado", one of my favorites, by the way, would be credited: Written by Don Henley and Glenn Frey/Performed by The Eagles.
