how to move to another town in sims 3 without extension packs?

Question

I started playing like 2 weeks ago and i really want to move to another town cause i got sick of this one (i think its the sunset valley or something). What do i have to do? Do i have to download towns and how do i install them? i really don't want extension packs. plase show me a free method of moving in sims 3 step by step. thanks!

oh and i also play on mac if this helps anything

You can move to another town by your sims phone and click on the move option. After doing this you should have the choice to either move within the neighborhood or out of town. You can also do this through the sims computer or laptop.

I don't know if the Mac is set up the Pc version is.

If you only have the base game there isn't any other town to move to because Sunset Valley is the only one. You can purchase and download towns on the Sims 3 store, download towns from other players, or download the Create a World tool from the Sims 3 website if you want to build your own. To move towns while in game, go on your phone or computer, click "Real Estate", and then "Move". Then choose "To another town".

You can download Riverview for free from the Sims 3 Store.  There are also people who have created custom worlds you might try, although it might be hard to find worlds that were created solely with basegame content.
