Should we host a horse rider or non horse rider?
I'm 15 and my mom and I have decided to host a foreign exchange student (high schooler, about my age) for the 2014 fall semester. My mom is letting me help out pick a student to inquire about. There are many students who say they ride horses/ like to ride. We live in a small house at a boarding stable ( we do not own the stable, but we keep one horse there). I am worried if we accept a horse rider them they may always want to ride my horse (my horse is difficult and has a unique personality and I'm working on training her). The students didn't say their level of riding so I don't know how experienced they are. What would you guys do? I do want to share my love of horses with others but I don't want to seem rude by not wanting them to ride my horse all the time.

you could always ask them! thats what i'd do.
but most people arnt rude and will not be asking to ride your horse all the time. horses have unique personalities but their personalities arn't varied compared to other animals some are just easier to ride than others so just let them ride your horse for a bit and eventually they will get bored and want to do something else. (most people who ride arn't horse nutters who want to ride every second of the day lol!)
and where is your exchange student from? if they ride a different way to you eg english or american they may have a hard time and not want to ride a horse that is trained differently

I agree with Kitt. But also with you. My horse is the same way. I have him trained to my riding and we understand each other. I didn't let many people ride him for their safety and his. I would say to put as riding and non riding both. That way they know they may get to ride but may not lol
