however italian icecream (gelato) is vastly different in technique taste texture

what do we eat... well we eat a variety of things

in the morning breakfast cerals toast tea coffee eggs things like that

lunch usually sandwiches

at night well the world cuisene is all here, pasta, thai style, curry, roast lamb and veg is a favourite on the weekend, lamb chops during the week, salads steak sausages really what ever you want

tennis is very popular and so is soccer although not as popular as the home grown aussie rules and rugby and cricket is very big here

home and away is filmed on location in Palm Beach which is as beautiful in real life as it looks on tv

big difference though is the lifestyle and story lines of the show are fantasy and real life has little in common with what goes on there... obviously surfing and beautiful bodies male and female are easy to find on the beaches here

Home and Away and Neighbours are paid for by Britain and made for British audiences. Most Australians don't watch either so don't expect to have a conversation about the latest happenings on the show with an Australian, we wouldn't know. The beaches are as they appear in H&A, that is Palm Peach north of Sydney on the show, but ordinary Australians are no more like the cast of H&A than British people are like the cast of Coronation St or Eastenders.

At the moment it is summer. The fifth test match against England starts in Sydney in three days, after that there will be the one day international series between England and Australia until the end of January. Australia goes to South Africa for a series of test matches in February.

The Australian Open, one of the four Grand Slam events, is on in Melbourne from 13-26 January.

It is the soccer season at the moment with A League matches on from now til April when the Finals start with the Grand Final the first week in May.

Our beaches really are as beautiful as you see on the show, the weather is much better and much warmer than in the UK and our food is wonderful, but don't expect to find everyone living the H&A lifestyle.

Tennis, Soccer, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Australian Rules are very popular in Australia. I was introduced to the game of Rugby League, and fell in love with it, better than our CFL or NFL.

Forget the TV Soaps, Australia, specially on the east coast has some of the best beaches in the world.

You come from the UK you know exactly what a gelato is, considering you are european, we eat the same as you lot do, but healthier, soccer is popular here, but rugby more, we have AFL which is australian football, and you will fit in perfectly being a eureopean
