Do you need to disclose how someone died in a house?

I know that if someone dies in a house the seller must disclose that information. But do you need to say how? My aunt had a heart attached, but my neighbor hung himself.

    In most states you do not have to disclose the death at all. In the ones you do there is a time limit, usually the last 3 years. None require anyone to know cause of death.

    As your agent. Laws differ by state. In my state, there's no requirement to disclose, unless of course a buyer explicitly asks if there have been any known deaths on the property.

    The law varies from state to state. In many places there is no requirement to say anything about this. My feeling is that unless the death has something to do with the condition or location of the house (for instance they died of carbon monoxide poisoning from a faulty furnace, or they fell down the stairs because the banister is broken), then nobody should expect to be told anything.

    California is the only state that requires the seller to notify a buyer that there was a death in the house. This restriction is only for 3 years. No, you don't need to tell the person how someone dead but at the same token it might help is someone knew.

    No, and in most states, you don't have to disclose that someone died at all.

    It depends. If they died of Aids you do not have to disclose that but if they died of natural causes you do.

    It is all political. You would think they would be looking for diseases
