Is Bank of America giving out my email?
I recently went to Bank of America in order to see about getting my first credit card. I set it up where I would get one from them, and they told me it would arrive in about two weeks, at which point I would have to activate it. As far as I knew, that was the end of it. Not a week later, I receive a spam email about my credit score, at the email I use for Bank of America, from "freeaddepot.com". This is literally the first email of this kind that I have ever received at this email address, and the fact that I got it so soon after meeting with BoA seems extremely suspicious to me. Does anyone know if this is just some crazy coincidence, or is BoA actually giving out my email?

the information from your application gets reported to your credit bureau so that e-mail address is now on your bureau and certain companies can do soft hits on your bureau and get non essential information.

Not that I am aware of. Privacy act is enforced. Now they may share it will other departments or groups of BOFA like mortgage and credit cards and Merill Lynch.
