It's a simple question with a simple conclusion... either Jesus was God or He was sent by God, right?

The reality is that there are scriptures that seemingly support both views and hence bible students argue.

I looked at this extensively and researched every bible verse I could find (added to those quoted at me by either side) and weighed up the context of those verses in order to weigh up the validity.

From the start I knew I wasn't going to be able to simply use bible verses because they seemed to contradict... for example. Jo14:28..." for the Father is greater than I" vs Jo 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

What seems obvious to me is … if I’m going to believe Jesus is God or vice versa how am I going to explain every bible verse that suggests the opposite.

In doing this I found that I could more easily see plausible explanations as to why Jesus being God has verses that suggest he isn’t. With the above example… “for the Father is greater than I”. Those who don’t believe Jesus was God would argue than if Jesus is part of the trinity this statement cannot be reconciled. But for me it’s easily reconcilled by the fact that Jesus would have to put aside his entire divinity to become a human baby. In accepting his mission on earth Jesus deliberately made himself less by becoming a man and whilst he was a man God the Father was indeed greater than Jesus. Conversely I have had many discussions with those who don’t believe Jesus was God (note they’re mainly Jehovah’s Witnesses) and the only way they can explain John 1:1 is to say change the interpretation to …” a god.” That means it’s down to interpreting the Greek. Almost all non-believing Greek scholers say this verse does not mean “a god” because the article is definite. Ie. just plain God. Furthermore the JW’s themselves for the first forty years or so used and believed the King James which says plain “God”.

Most Christian denominations support the view of the trinity and I believe anyone who honestly and openly considers both sides of the argument will conclude likewise.

    Yes...

How can the universe create itself out of nothingness? Given the fact that the universe began to exist, it must have had a “cause” that originated it.Doesn't it make more sense to assume the existence of a Creation. The question is tricky because it sneaks in the false assumption that GOD came from somewhere and then asks where that might be. The answer is that the question does not even make sense. It is like asking, “What does blue smell like?” Blue is not in the category of things that have a smell, so the question itself is flawed. In the same way, GOD is not in the category of things that are created or caused. GOD is uncaused and uncreated—He simply exists.

We know that from nothing, nothing comes. So, if there were ever a time when there was absolutely nothing in existence, then nothing would have ever come into existence. But things do exist. Therefore, since there could never have been absolutely nothing, something had to have always been in existence. That ever-existing being is what we call GOD ,GOD is the un-caused Being that caused everything else to come into existence. God is the uncreated Creator who created the universe and everything in it.

The universe requires a cause because it had a beginning, GOD unlike the universe, had no beginning, so he doesn’t need a cause. Einstein’s theory of general relativity, which has much experimental support, shows that time is linked to matter and space. So time itself would have begun along with matter and space. Since GOD is the creator of the whole universe, he is the creator of time. Therefore He is not limited by the time dimension He created..@

Life without GOD is like an un- sharpened pencil it has no point..

You can't see the wind, but you know it is there because you can see what the wind is doing. You can know that the wind is there because you can feel it.GOD is like the wind, you can't see him

This is the old dispute between the Athanasians and the Arians, and it turns on the translation of a single Greek word, with just one letter - the Greek "iota" ("i") making all the difference. The Athanasians held that Jesus WAS God - and had to invent the "Doctrine of the Trinity" to accommodate the idea - while the Arians believed that he was "a man, close unto God". When the Emperor Constantine made "Christianity" the official religion of the Roman Empire, he chose the Athanasian version, simply because it would give his "Roman Catholic Church" more authority, and Arianism was declared to be a heresy.

If ONLY he had chosen differently there would be NO conflict between Christians and Moslems - "Jesus, the son of Mary" is a great "Prophet of Islam", and his sayings are to be found all through the Koran, but he was a man - because, for Moslems, "There is no God BUT God".

Just THINK for a moment about the difference which that would have made for people all over the world for the last 1700 years - and particularly today ! And all because of the pride of a pagan Roman Emperor !

A fundamental core doctrine of Christianity is that Jesus is God. Of course it is clear that he was sent by God to live amongst us as a human being. He is the promised Jewish Messiah, a prophet, and more. But, he is also God - that is the official Christian stance, although there are those calling themselves Christian who do not accept that idea.

Jesus was sent by God, his Father in Heaven. Both of them are Divine. They are so intertwined in purpose that they can be thought of as one God, even though they are two separate beings.

Jesus was not God but he sent by God to say people that there is just unique God

you should read bible of Barnabas.

see what a silly reason of trinity (a big distortion in bible)

    God is Unity

But bible speak about God of Son, God of Father and God of Spirit

    So Unity+3 God= Trinty

Just a fool person accept this.

for God's sake use your brain see how Paul distor christianty and convert it to Mithras

Jesus is part of the Holy Trinity and agreed to be born a Man with a divine nature so he could help save us on Earth. He was the visible part of the Holy Trinity.
