Can a Motorola Droid work on Consumer Cellular?

Consumer cellular offers free simm chips. My wife wants to switch from an iPhone to a Droid so she will have the same phone I have. Will a Driod smartphone work on this system by using the CC simm?

Update:

Phone is an 18 mo old Droid Razr 4 gig, with an 8 gig additional storage chip installed. I'm looking at the simm card, it's white. Verizon told me a year ago that it's unlocked.

Update 2:

In reviewing the phone specs it's just CDMA, no GSM, so, no, it won't work on Consumer Cellular.

    Hi,

Do you mean the original Motorola Droid http://www.phonearena.com/phones/Motorola-DROID_id... The Motorola Droid doesn't have a SIM card slot. It is a CDMA phone so it won't with Consumer Cellular which is a GSM service provider.

    Hope this helps.

You can sell it on Amazon for a decent amount and use that to subsidize your new phone. ;)

My experience so far is that pretty much any unlocked GSM phone will work on CC along with locked AT&T phones.

    Good luck!
