2004 Sunfire air bag issues?
I have a 04 Sunfire that has an air bag warning light on. I have a scanner and it is showing a code B0026 Driver Frontal Deployment Loop Open. I bought this car used so I don't know the whole history. I took off the air bag and I see no problem with the connection and it does not look as if the air bag has been replaced or the steering wheel removed. No marks on the nut, etc. The fuse is OK. I see no evidence of this car being in an accident in the front. Appears the driver fender was replaced at some time. Looking for a best guess as what to try? I don't want to replace the air bag and SIR coil which I understand can cause this code. These are hard to find in a salvage yard. Thanks and Happy New Year.
Please don't tell me it can be any or all of the whole system. I probably know that. I'm wanting the most likely thing to try as I'm sure these things may have had common issues.
