Is there any bird which gives birth to its off springs found in Australia, any help will be appreciated.?

Kindly give me the name or any bird like species, thank you.

Update:

Marianne I know that, I heard in lecture that there is animal which is half bird and half mammal only found in Aussie. One of the Australian even answered it, I just forgot the name. It breast feeds its young. Could not find anything in search engines. May be Australian know the answer, I am sure.

Doc...sounds to me like you're looking for the Duckbill Platypus, and if I remember correctly it is the only known "mammal" that lays eggs. Don't know if that's what you're looking for. This creature was thought to be extinct, but was rediscovered near the middle of the 1900's.

Birds, by definition, do not give birth to live offspring. They all lay eggs.
