Humminbird wide 100 tuning?
I have a humminbird wide 100 portable I want to use for ice fishing. It's not the best but since I dot have a vex, it'll have to do. Any way, I took it out and it reads like 20' in what I know is more like 5 or 6'. How can I get it to read right? The book is MIA.

I hate to be the bringer of bad news- Many regular (LCD) fish-finders don't work so well for ice fishing.
Example- 10 years ago I saw an insane deal on a Humminbird Piranha Finder (on close-out for $50) and decided to get it for ice fishing. After making a trick mounting system for the transducer (and being rather excited about getting a dedicated ice finder for so cheap), I found that it wouldn't work. (Something to do with the gain and clarity)
The point??? Try messing with the gain- if that doesn't work- well- your S.O.L. - sorry.
A Flasher unit designed for ice fishing is 200 % better for ice fishing.....
Hope this helps? Good luck!
