So Doctor Who fans, what did you think of The Time of the Doctor episode?

I was both unhappy and happy with this episode. First, why I was unhappy...

Matt Smith got such a lousy goodbye and his regeneration was cut short. Parts of the episode seemed to cheat Matt out of his finale and the storyline was a little sloppy. I felt like they could have made it a two-parter or something, because it didn't all fit together so well. It was a bumpy ride to watch this episode. The Silence and angels were just kinda there. It seemed like they were trying to just get excitement by putting them there, which would allow them to be in the trailer.

However, on the other hand...

I loved Peter Capaldi right away and I think he will be a hit. I was glad how they had tied past mysteries, like the cracks in the wall and Doctor Who? into it all. It helped to bring about Matt's finale. The different sides of the 11th doctor were also seen in this episode and the actual aging of the doctor was observed.

So overall, I liked the episode, but felt like it would have been better if a little more thought process and editing would have gone into this final project.
