Does swap frog need to be on the field to bounce a monster?

So let's say this. I normal summon caius MP1. In MP2, can I use the swap frog in my hand's effect to bounce caius back to my hand? Or does swap frog need to be on the field?

Unless stated otherwise, a monster's effect can only be used while it is face-up on the field. Effects that summon monsters, like Swap Frog's first effect, clearly are used while it is in your hand. However anything else, like Swap Frog's Ignition Effect, can only be used while the monster is face-up on the field.

Swap Frog must be on the field because the card does not state that the effect can be activated in hand. As long as it does not specifically say you can use it in hand, then you must assume that it has to be on the field.
