Can you recommend a good psychology book focusing on human aggression/violence?

Anger, where does it originate? Can it be controlled? Why is it so addictive amongst the general public?

I'd like to read a good book on this. I've always been fascinated by humanities endless cycle of violence. History appears to teach us nothing in that regard.

There is a good book - not sure if it would be classified as a psychology book though? called The Gift of Fear by Gavin DeBecker - he talks about predicting violence - he writes about aggression - you can substitute she where it is written he as all genders can be violent and manipulative. It is a very well written book.
